Rosebery, Tasmania, Tasmania
With a very short walk from the road, and a purpose built look out to view the waterfall, Stitt Falls is a popular waterfall in the township of Rosebery. Stitt Falls is situated on Stitt River, and the look out gives you the vantage point of seeing the waterfall from side on view. Various trees and shrubs do hinder the view of the falls.
The waterfall drops approximately 5 - 8 metres, and is best appreciated from the base of the waterfall. However, there are no hiking tracks to the bottom, nor is there an easy way to negotiate your way to the river below. However, for those who are experienced in bush walking, and are used to ascending and descending steep, slippery terrain, it is possible to work your way to the bottom of the waterfall by hiking to Stitt River from the south western side of the waterfall, and then wade upstream to the base.
