About Foaming Falls

Right on the boundary of Hartz Mountains National Park is a 35 metre waterfall on Foaming Creek, an impressively large waterfall considering it remains unmarked on maps. The falls are much larger than they initially appear and cannot be captured in a single photograph, with a twisting upper tier nearly invisible from the base flowing into a powerful plunging drop.

No tracks lead to Foaming Falls, and getting here requires a long walk on forestry roads and through steep, trackless terrain. Park at the fork of Wyena Road with Hartz Road, and walk past the locked gate for a couple of kilometres, keeping left at a couple of intersections, before turning right onto another forestry road. This right turn is very obvious and notable given that the road has been completely dug up and destroyed in an dubious effort to regenerate the area. As a result, it's a rather unpleasant 2km further following the piles of rubble until you come to a plateau with open plains to the right. Leave the road, and follow old logging tracks to the edge of the escarpment, then head down very steeply into the rainforest and work around towards the creek and falls.
