About Cornwall Falls

Cornwall Falls is a seasonal waterfall, meaning that most of the year it tends to be dry. After good rainfall, the waterfall is impressive dropping approximately 10 metres.

The start of the walk commences from John Street in Cornwall where a boom gate is situated on the road. Even if the gate is open, it is highly recommended to not drive into the area, but park your car nearby and walk in.

From the boom gate, walk along the road. You will pass an old relic concrete building that was once used for the coal mining operations in the area. After approximately 10 to 15 minutes of walking, you will reach Cornwall Falls. The waterfall is located right next to the road and is impossible to miss.

As a point of interest, another 5 minute walk along the road will take you to an old structure that is now used by TasWater for supplying Cornwall's fresh water.
