About Upper Ford Falls

Located on the plateau of Ben Lomond is a small unnamed waterfall we've nicknamed 'Upper Ford Falls'. It has a height of approximately 2.5 metres.

You need to travel to Ben Lomond.  The road is unsealed and is subject to very thick ice and snow, particularly in the winter. For this reason, we recommend visiting this waterfall in the summer.

Getting to the waterfall is easy, provided you can find the start of the track. The start of this track across the road and 200 metres north from the Summit Pass Track.

The track meanders for about 5 minutes before you are forced to do some climb down some boulders to reach the river's edge. You will then need to hop across boulders on the river to get a clear view.  Overall, it's a 20 - 30 minute return walk from the road.

This waterfall is relatively close to the Ben Lomond Ski Village, and a day could easily be spent visiting this waterfall along with the other walks nearby, notably the track that takes you to Legges Tor, the highest summit on Ben Lomond.
