About Innes Falls

Innes Falls is located on Day 2 of the Overland Track, and is situated south of Barn Bluff and Lake Will. It's a small waterfall of approximately 6 metres in height that shoots into a small gorge, and is worth seeing as a side trip of the overland track if you're a keen waterfall enthusiast.

From the hut at Waterfall Valley, You walk south along the Overland Track for approximately 2 km's before you reach the junction for Lake Will.  Take the side trip to visit Lake Will.  The board walk will soon disappear, and you will be walking on a roughish track at times until you reach the shores of Lake Will.  From here, you have to navigate yourseld alongside the banks of Lake Will towards Innes Falls (a GPS will be required). This section is very indistinct and very muddy underfoot, and much care should be taken to ensure you keep yourself safe as well as looking after the vegetation around you.  Be prepared to get very dirty!

A river known as Bluff River flows out of Lake Will, and when you eventually reach the river, follow the river downstream.  A small gorge opens up, and you will need to walk around and into the gorge to get a clear view of Innes Falls.
